BROADCOM’S COMMITMENTS TO ADDRESS COMPETITION CONCERN ARE ACCEPTED BY THE COMMISSION
08.10.2020
On 7.10.2020, the European Commission has accepted commitments offered by the Broadcom to address Commission’s concern to fair competition.
The Commitments include that Broadcom will suspend all existing agreements and/or leveraging provision related with System-on-a-Chip (“SoCs”) and will not enter into new agreements comprising such terms.
In particular, Broadcom, at European Economic Area, will not require or induce by means of price or non-price advantages an original equipment manufacturer to obtain any minimum percentage of its EEA requirements for SoCs for TV set-top boxes, xDSL modems and fibre modems from Broadcom and, at worldwide level (except Chine), not require or induce more than 50% of its requirements.
